The executive will replace Edson Carlos Mallaco, who held the position since 2015.
Atech, an Embraer Group company, announced today the change of its presidency. Rodrigo Persico de Oliveira, who held the position of Vice-President of Business Intelligence at Embraer Defense & Security, will be the new President and CEO of Atech, replacing Edson Carlos Mallaco.
“I express my gratitude to Edson Mallaco, who has served as President and CEO of Atech since 2015 and made a vast contribution to the Embraer Group over the past 39 years,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security.
Bosco also mentioned Persico’s credentials, who has 23 years of experience at the Embraer Group. The change is part of the Group's restructuring within the scope of Defense & Security. “I am sure Rodrigo has the necessary skills to lead Atech, continuing the company's growth in a sustainable way and with a willingness to meet current and future demands of the Armed Forces and the Business market,” he adds.
Mallaco thanked the period with Atech, emphasizing the synergy between customers, employees, partners, and suppliers. “It was a great privilege to lead Atech during these eight years and count on professionals as unique as ours. Today, Atech is a reference company in the national and international markets, and its contribution is crucial for the country's technological autonomy, which makes us proud. We operate throughout the cycle of innovative technologies in strategic projects for the Armed and Security Forces. Our knowledge and willingness to innovate reach society and contribute to citizens’ daily lives.”
He also wished Persico success in his new mission. “I wish Rodrigo much success in this new challenge, and I am sure Atech will be under competent and prosperous leadership, with a focus on expanding the company's business, aiming to meet the demands of our customers.”
In his 23-year career at the Embraer Group, Rodrigo Persico has worked in several Product Engineering areas at the company—both in Brazil and abroad. In March 2020, he became Vice-President of Business Intelligence at Embraer Defense & Security, a position he has held to date. Persico is a mechanical engineer who graduated from the Federal University of Santa Catarina-UFSC and has two MBAs: International Executive from FIA-USP and a Specialization Course in Administration from FGV.
“I first express my gratitude and congratulations to Mallaco for leading the company over the past eight years,” said Rodrigo. “I am very excited and motivated by this new challenge facing Atech and I would like to thank Bosco, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, and Walter Pinto, Vice President of Programs, Defense & Security, for the trust given to me to take on this position and contribute to the company's business growth. I am confident that I will carry out growth management with support from the team and leaders, preserving the legacy built so far and leading towards expansion paths, sustainably and robustly, with a total focus on customer needs,” added Persico.
