Air Traffic Management Magazine recently spoke with Brian Bruckbauer, ATCA President and CEO about the upcoming ATCA Global event bearing the theme – Connecting People that Shape Tomorrow’s Airspace. There are some new plans for this event emerging from the hybrid versions of the last two years. First of all the goal is that of a truly global event addressing topics and hosting attendees that go well beyond the US.
The second change is the focus on a wider discussion around airspace with theatres addressing air traffic management (ATM), space, advanced air mobility (AAM) and unmanned aerial systems (UAS), Innovation/Technology and a keynote theatre which will also host speakers from the topics of the four main theatres. Partnerships with the Commercial Spaceflight Federation and Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems (AUVSI) will help to strengthen the focus on these additional segments.
On the 8th of September, the ATCA mentorship program kicked off for the upcoming year. This is a great way to welcome new innovation and ideas into our industry and I look forward to hearing about some of the outcomes of the program in the future.
Key sessions to look for across the theatres bring a new perspective to ongoing topics.
ATM Theatre: Beyond 5G – Ensuring spectrum compatibility for the future includes speakers from T-Mobile, Aviation Spectrum Resources (ASRI) and the Airline Pilots Association.
Space Integration Theatre: The Future of Space Traffic Management and the NAS brings both the Office of Space Commerce and Space Operations Command from the US Space Force together to consider this topic.
AAM and UAS Theatre: Cybersecurity Implications in the AAM Ecosystem presented by the cybersecurity group within the FAA.
Innovation and Technology Theatre: Tech talks focusing on emerging operations, air navigation and AAM.
There’s an international flavor to the presenters including EUROCONTROL, Skyguide, NATO, SESAR AND EASA. Additionally, ATCA and FABEC will be announcing a Joint Declaration during the event. But you’ll have to wait until the show to learn what it’s all about.
See you in Washington!
