After flooding in the basement of the Swiss air traffic control centre in Geneva, the cooling system was put back into operation after around two hours. The danger of the air traffic control systems overheating has thus been averted. The closure of the airspace could therefore be lifted and operations resumed.
There is currently a 50% reduction in capacity in the Geneva area. The situation is being continuously monitored and assessed. Skyguide regrets the inconvenience caused to passengers and airlines.
